Baltic Amber has been used for jewelry and decorative objects for thousands of years. Baltic Amber is a fossilized resin that is found primarily in the Baltic region of Europe. It is believed to have formed over 44 million years ago during the Eocene Epoch. The resin was exuded from trees and then became buried and fossilized over time. The silver on these half wing Cognac Baltic Amber Earrings is Rhodium plated. The rhodium plating also helps to protect the metal from tarnishing or becoming dull over time.
